"Selling Better Homes for Less since 1961"
Pictured is Claude N. Palmer working on one of the first Palmer Homes in 1954! He started out by refinishing "trailer" homes with his wife Bea. They hauled a few homes with his station wagon! While in the Navy Claude and his young family lived in 8' wide "trailer" home, where he was stationed.
When he came back to the valley to live in Sayre, PA, Claude worked at Stroehmans. They started fixing up and selling used homes at night. Claude did the repairs well Bea cleaned and sewed new curtains. Being that Claude was raised on a dairy farm in Mainesburg, PA he knew how to work hard.
When the family moved to Waverly, NY in 1961, at our current location, they bought their first new home. They grew the family adding a couple more children. (Lisa and Vicky) They quickly grew the business. They ran an impressive Modular factory from 1971-1978 right outback of our office. They also Built a 99 unit mobile home park in Lowman, NY on their "free" time well the kids played in freshly moved dirt. Picture Claude and Bea dressed to the 10's driving the Backhoe and dozer digging wells and sewers. Talk about never slowing down!
Palmers is now run by 2nd and 3rd generation. Daughters Bev and Lisa can be found in the office most days. Along with their children and now grandchildren. Jaxon (5yr) has plans to drive big trucks with his mom and uncle.
